  • Amar Podugu, M.D. 

    Dr. Podugu completed his medical school at the Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences affiliated with the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in India. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2014 at Canton Medical Education Foundation (CMEF) affiliated with NEOMED. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida (CCF-Florida).

    Dr. Podugu was awarded with “Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award” presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. He also served as a Chief Resident and Chief Fellow during his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.

    Dr. Podugu is a member of the AGA, ACG and ASGE. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Jonathan P. Congeni, M.D 

    Dr.Congeni graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University.  He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine.  He also completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 2011 and Gastroenterology Fellowship in 2014 at the Ohio State University.

    Dr. Congeni was awarded Intern Educator of the Year, Award for Excellence in Continuity Clinic Care as a Resident and received the senior Resident Teaching Award while at Ohio State.

    Dr Congeni is a member of the Ohio State Medical Society, American Society of Gastroenterology Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterology Association. He is also board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Kenny S. Yung, M.D. 

    Dr. Yung graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in psychology. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He then completed his training in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center and his Gastroenterology training at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

    Dr. Yung’s research interest is in inflammatory bowel disease. He has written numerous articles on the subject.

    Dr.Yung also serves as Clinical Associate Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).

    He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Richard M. Salvino, M.D. 

    Dr. Salvino was born and raised in Canton and attended Central Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where he received the Patrick Niland, M.D. Award given to an outstanding Pre-professional Studies graduate. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Akron General Medical Center. He then completed a Clinical Nutrition Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic followed by his Gastroenterology Fellowship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. After practicing in Akron for over 15 years, Dr. Salvino joined Gastroenterology Specialists in 2022. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). Dr.Salvino is a member of the Ohio State Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterology Association. He is board certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Sanjiv K. Khullar, M.D.

    Dr. Khullar graduated with honors from Delhi University where he received his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College. He completed his training in Internal Medicine in the United States at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He then completed Gastroenterology training at the University of Utah Hospital.

    After completing his gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Khullar served on the faculty at University Hospital and VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City. While there, Dr. Khullar ran the High Risk Colon Cancer Clinic at the University of Utah and was a therapeutic endoscopist at both the University and VA Medical Centers.

    Dr. Khullar has been practicing in the Canton area since 1999 and is a Clinical Associate Professor of internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).

    He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
