About the Practice

The practice was formed in 1989 by Micheal M. VanNess, M.D. as a solo practice. Gastroenterology Special, Inc, was incorporated in 1994 and six years later Andrew G. Libertin, M.D. joined in Partnership. Kenny S. Yung, M.D. joined the practice in August 2004 and Dr. Sanjiv K. Khuillar in August 2010. The practiced then welcomed Dr. Jonathan P. Congeni July 2014. Dr. Amar Podugu joined the practice in July 2017. Dr. Van Ness retired in 2020 and Dr. Libertin left in May 2022.  The practice welcomed Richard M Salvino, M.D. in July 2022. All physician are board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
